Mostly for my programming I use UltraEdit. I love it very much because of its simplicity yet it provides many good features that you will need while programming. It has got some excellent features like project based editing, FTP browser and uploader, multiple clipboards for storing copied data, spell checker, file comparison, character mapping converter and many others. It features syntax highlighting for many popular programming languages. Because of its disk based editing design you can easily open large files without any problem. You even have the feature of macro recording. You have also got the hot key functionality. The user configurable syntax colouring is pre-configured for HTML, Java, C/C++, and VB. UltraEdit has got Integrated Browser Support to Preview Active HTML files.
